DataFlex Reports

DataFlex Reports is the default reporting engine for DataFlex applications. Reports can be executed stand-alone in the DataFlex Reports Studio, or seamlessly integrated in a Windows or Web application. This training focuses on integration of reports based on SQL, Runtime Data Sources (RDS) as well as the embedded database. Learn how to control the output to screen and several export formats in a DataFlex application.

Working with JSON

Learn how to use JSON and REST-full services in DataFlex. The training will introduce you to JSON, explain its usage, how it compares to XML and how it is used in DataFlex. We will use the new JSON parser classes and the new JSON HTTP transfer class to communicate with REST-full services.

Extending the DataFlex WebApp Framework

Expand upon the foundations provided by the DataFlex WebApp Framework. We’ll be going through the basics of the WebApp Framework and look at the required steps to take towards building your own controls. As an example, we will be building a simple custom control during this training. Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript is required for this. Consider following the JavaScript Fundamentals training to cover the required basics.

You will get hands-on experience with the first version of the DataFlex Security library: calculate hash values, securely store passcodes, and implement 2-factor authentication using TOTP and FIDO U2F (using a USB hardware key).
